What are the 3 things you love about October, Please comment me so we can all see what are favorites are. My 3 things for October are
1. Cooler Temperatures
2. The smell of the crisp clean air in the mornings
3. Stews, Chili's, Baking.

I could go on and on with so many more but 3 are plenty.
My little girl is doing great in Collage, we all miss her so but she has a new life now and we need to sit back and watch her rise. Its been hard on her Dad but hes getting used to her begin gone. We have Skype so we can video call her and see her face so that helps out alot, I know shes alive and well.

Hope its cooling down in your neck of the woods. We have not yet but by Friday its going to be in the 80's and we are all looking forward to that. 20 degrees different is a big change for us.

HELLO Everyone.
Hope your Summer was not to hot for you? Ours was not to bad. It stayed nice until August which that don't happen to often. Just wanted to check in and say HI and show you my Apron I made for my sisters swap. Its the 1st one I have made . I was kind of nervous in making. Soon it will be Fall. The season to enjoy the cooler weather, falling leaves, and Pumpkin pies... I love it and last year they had a shortage on the pumpkin in a can. I hope they have enough this year. I was in Walmart last night and I saw a pumpkin roll.... My mouth was watering... I held my breath and passed on by. Well Hope you enjoy your week and GOD BLESS!

The Countdown to Graduation that is.

My baby will be graduating high school on June 10th,

so close but yet days away.

Plans for her future?

What will there be for young kids these day?

Its a scary thought and it dont look good.

She will be heading off to collage this Fall at the UNR in Reno, Nevada.

Its a whole other world out there.

Something you cant teach.

Well my days here are winding down to toward the end.

My last day in Pahrump will be June 30th.

Then back on unemployment and home.

Its funny how these months has gone by fast.

I have met some really nice people here.

I never thought I would of left home and worked so far away but I did.

So the countdown has begun until one little girl becomes her own person.

My Grandson Noah.... Such a happy baby!

Long time, no see is what you saying about me. I know I am bad, so sorry for that. Well TGIF... yes its Friday and looking forward to driving home tonight after work for a long 3 day weekend. My daughter is at the playoffs for Basketball in Las Vegas, They won last night by 1 point. I wish I could of been there, but work is a must in todays world. I feel that I am missing her Senior Year. I feel bad being 75 miles away from her. I am in need of much needed rest. My back has been hurting alot and I have started seeing a Chiropractor here in Pahrump. It very funny to me to just get to drive down town and see a doctor then go home. I am so used to making a day to see doctors because you have to drive to Vegas which is 120 miles one way. You never get to go right home after that. I guess thats what living in a small town for 30+ years has done for me. Adjustments to living somewhere there is a Walmart in the same town, and 24 hours at that. I have stopped in after I have gotten off from work. Its just a strange feeling all around. Yes I posted Happy New Year since I am so far behind I thought late is better then nothing. I am still a busy person and not home much. My internet dont work good when I am away from home and blogger would not let me publish they last few times I have tried, so sorry about that everyone. I am home for my 3 day weeken which is nice. Trying to take it easy but something calls my name like laundry, dishes, cooking, kids.. you name it. I wanted to pop in and say HI and hope to catch up with everyone. I have entered Sues Valentines Day card exchange and hoping to get them done soon.

Hello and How are you seems to be what I have been saying alot to so many people I do not know. Being the new person at a place your not familiar with puts you in a place of uncertainty or to me anyways, I have not worked out of Beatty (the town I live in) in 28 years, I just cant run home for a minute. This will take some time to get used to and going to bed late. I feel like my feet are going to fall off. This is my new job. I walk a mile every night, I take care of peoples needs, I dispose of waste. Sounds like everyday like. If only I was home closer. Please pray for me, I put in a transfer for home, a job came up and I already heard that 2 others put in for it to, so pray I become the lucky one and I will get to go home and it would be a full time position not like the one I am in now, its only funded until the end of the school year. Well its late and I am beat so I am off to bed. Here is a picture of the school I work at, this is just a small portion of the school. Enjoy your week.

HELLO, HELLO, HELLO...... All is well over here, hope the same for all of you. We had a freak rain storm, it blew in as fast as it blew out. It would of been nice to have it stick around for a day or so. Hope that everyones Halloween was nice. We have Beatty Days that same weekend, it brings lots of people in which I don't care for when the kids are out trick or treating but nothing I can do about it. I have had a busy week driving to Pahrump (75 miles one way) everyday for work, I sure am tired when I get home. As much as I wish for the perfect life, I know that will never happen, I will take each day, one at a time and enjoy what there is. Not alot going on here. Hope your weekend is good and happy.

Good Morning.... and sorry its been so long since my last post. No I have not dropped off the face of the earth, no, I did not run away. I am here. Been alittle busy. I am now a grandma to 2. Noah was born in September, if you have facebook you can see all that happening. He is a big boy and doing good. I am so glad the election are done and over with. The phone calls and TV ads were bad. They all lie to us promising big stuff and when they get in there nothing happens for the good. Well I wanted to say hi and thank everyone whos been waiting for me. will try better to keep up. Volunteer what does that really mean to a person. Yes you can volunteer at church, yes you can help out with girlscouts or boy scouts, yes you can help out with little league. but what does it really mean????? Well I can tell you what I think and it might not be what you think. Yes I have done all of these I just described. Cub and Girl scouts, Helped with little league. Church when ever I can, all that is nothing new to me. But I feel that my real time in volunteering is in a Ambulance Service. I have been doing this since 1991, eash year it gets alittle more harder due to my age, weight, health and the mandated stuff the state says we must have. Well the whole point to this is we need help in this little town and getting people to volunteer there time is like pulling nails, no one wants to do this any more. I have until Jan 2011 for fix this problem and if I do not then the county will close the doors and pull the ambulances away from here and thats so sad. What will we do when we need help? Who will we call when we need help? Only GOD knows and he knows best.

Have a great weekend. Many prayers goes out to my very best friend whos husband has cancer and its only time for him to leave us. I feel so bad for her and I cant be there when she needs me.

Another Day in the Desert! Well for me anyways. Its been hot here and the humidity I came home too seems to be gone and I am glad. When you use Swamp Coolers to keep your house cool and there any humidity in the air it makes it HOT inside and they don't work well but they do save alot on the electric bill and that's a good thing. Its suppose to be 110 in Vegas today! Yuck I am glad I am not going to Vegas today. We are lucky that we are alittle cooler then that. Its my Sunday today and working on Ambulance stuff, so never a day off for me. Not alot happening here. Hope that you all are staying inside and keeping cool. Enjoy your day.

Hello again from this long lost sole who's not posted in a long time. All is well out in the West. A Few things has happened since my last post. My job is going well. I was asked to be the Coordinator for our Volunteer Ambulance Service, Went on a trip with my 2 kids to Oklahoma, Missouri, Colorado and Utah checking out Collages for my youngest who will be a Senior this year in High School. Saw my family and friends and made it home safe... Its been a nice Summer so far, I made it 1 year since my knee surgery and doing well from that.

I will try to keep up again, sometimes you just need a brain break to rethink what you want to post next. Here is a picture from my trip, Enjoy and thanks for hanging with me.

Not alot going on here in this small town, the winds have settled down, the sun is shining, birds are singing. Sounds like a perfect day to me. Hope that everyone has survived the bad weather in Oklahoma area. I know a couple people living in that part of the country and so far they are safe. Praise GOD for watching over these people. Well to start off I want to say to all the ladies out there HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! Weather or not you may be a Mom its still a day to take time to think about your Mom and all they do. I miss my Mom, just knowing I will never hear her say to me, Hi, makes me sad. We don't always get along with our parents but when you need them they are never really far away. My day was real nice, Hubby took me through Death Valley on the way through to Pahrump to see out oldest child who is expecting in September, so I got to spend the day with my whole family besides Kaley who I am hoping she will be home soon as her school is done. I sure miss that little booger..

Here's some pictures of Death Valley National Park. If you have never been there and are expecting something great, well hope these pictures don't let you down because its not really great at least to me anyway, seeing the flowers was something nice to see. Enjoy.

Mother Nature is playing game with us out in the desert? Why do I say this, well let me tell you. We have this storm that's slowly coming through which I don't mind because I love the rain and we don't get near enough to keep the valleys somewhat green But the last 2 days its been snowing. You think that snow is rare in Nevada which it really is not but for April it is really odd. Last weekend we went out in the desert to Geocache and it was 80 and hot and for this time of year that's normal for us. Its that time of year to put away the coats and get the tee shirts out. Today its been chilly and the wood stove is running I think its a record set that April is the oddest month my whole 30 years I have lived here. I am trying to enjoy it because I will be Hot before long. So if you have a strange April going on, please post I would like to hear your story. Enjoy the weekend coming up. GOD BLESS!

Hello and welcome to another beautiful day out West. All is good out here and enjoying my day off from work. I wanted to share with you a trip down memories lane, well not really but I love the look of really old building and on our way home acouple weeks ago from Tonopah you have to drive through Goldfield Nevada. At its hay days it was one of the biggest towns in Nevada 1890-1900 era. A boxing match was held there with some big name (I dont remember who it was) Gold and Silver was being mined. Here is whats left when you drive through. One of the building was put into a movie which some might know and others will not called Cherry 2000 and Rhyolite was in that movie too. The Goldfield Hotel was but on a show about being haunted? Now I dont believe in that so it dont scare me but some might be afraid? If you have to travel my way and drive on Hyw 95 please take you time when slowing down to drive through, Its a big ball of history waiting for you to see. Enjoy.

Welcome back to myself that is since I was away for while. I have been a busy girl, The weather is so nice outside I have been laying 12x12 red brick out frount and making a little area to sit I guess you would call it. I love watching the birds come to the feeders. So my picture will show the after look. I did not take any before pictures, sorry, it was just all dirt there and the cats thought it was for them to use, so I was getting tired of that. The other reason why I am not posting alot is because I found a job at one of the motels here in Beatty. They have me training so I can get the hang of it. I am the front desk person checking in guest. With Death Valley in Bloom right now all the motels here have been full every night and that keep us up and busy all night. As you can see I am still here and alive just not on line as often as I would like to be but thats ok. So inregardes to all of that I hope that you all had a great Easter! My little Kaley was with me for a couple of days. Now shes with her Momma whos exspecting a little boy in September, so I will be a Nana again. Enjoy your weekend coming up. Oh Yeah its Friday.... Well for me its another great day that GOD has provided for all of us to enjoy so much but for some of you its the last work day and a long week too. My weeks have been spent on the road 3 times a week. Not always a fun thing but when you live so far away from any stores or doctors offices it miles add up fast. Its hard to believe that April is almost here, where has this year gone? So far it has not been to bad compaired to last year. My job searches are really slow. I have been looking in all directions and last but least I look 75 miles away to Pahrump where there might be a job for me. I know that GOD has something in store for me, waiting is all I can do and faith. Yes times are tough in this country but with out Faith we have nothing. Well enjoy your weekend and make the most of it.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you out in Blogg Land. My weeks here lately have been busy so sorry for not posting alot. I have been out job hunting. Not a fun thing to do at all. Today is a special day. Today I have been married for 24 years.... WOW that a long time, hard to believe. And also today is my son's birthday Kyle who is 22. Its a double special day but always Kyle's birthday. And on top of that both Kyle and I have a nasty head cold and feel like crap. But my head is up and looking forward to another day. Welcome to the month of March! I hope its a good one and that Spring is around the corner soon. All out here in the desert is going well. What little bit of rain we got has started to turn the desert somewhat green. I have been gone the last few days so I have not been posting. I was in California at my sister - in- laws house and she gave me a pattern for a cupcake pincushion. Pretty neat what people can come up with. Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening...... I hope so anyways. Alls well here in the Desert. Its been nice a warn out here. I went to Las Vegas yesterday and my car temperature said 72..... WOW a heat wave. Soon Spring is around the corner and then Summer will be here. Living in the Desert you don't get much of the 4 Seasons. Hope your week has all went well. Mine was OK. I went to a job interview at a local business but did not get it. They were offering a part time position and they give it to someone who don't need the money just needs something to do. What a shame this Country has gone to. There are family's who really need work and are on unemployment and they give it to someone who "just needs something to do" This country will never fix its self. Sorry for the rant... it makes me so mad. Living in a small town is not always good. Its got to bet better soon.

Hey there yall, Hope that your day is going well and enjoyable as mine? I have been busy with Church, Ironing, Making lunch and crafts and of course posting for today. I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day and hope you get that loving feeling no matter who you are. Here are my Valentines I received from the Valentines Care swap Sue hosted. We had to make 23 and mail off and get back 23, I got 22 so I guess I am doing pretty good. Here are the cards I got in the mail, Thanks to all the blogger women who took there time to create such lovely cards, I dont have a favorite since they are all so nice. This was my 2nd year in doing it and had a great time making them, now its time to shop for next years cards since all the supplies will be on sale now. Thanks again ladies... I love them. well sit down, rest up and let me tell you what!

It was James Dean's Birthday, A dozen eggs cost .53cents, It was a Monday like today. The moon was in its 1st quarter phase, And the Sound Of Music one of my Mothers favorite movies was playing in the theaters,

but that's not the only things that was happening in this country we live in,

I was born on this day.

What simple lives my parents lived in.

Too look now and see around you the mess we have all put us into.

I look back at my life to only say its been a good experience.

I hope to at least have 40 more.....

So to keep this history lesson short,

I hope that is anyone out there has the same date of Birthday,

What does that really mean? Well to me its when they wake up this beautiful animal who is very pampered to see if it will see its shadow, they have not any idea what a shadow even is? He has his own house in the middle of town. Sadly to say the Groundhog did see his shadow which some will say that means 6 more weeks of Winter. Now I go by the calendar and its 6 weeks either way you look at it. It would be nice if such an animal could say that Winter is over, but Mother Nature know best. Enjoy whats left of your Winter as I will mine because before to long it will be 115 here in the desert and we will all be yelling wheres Winter!

Not a heck of a whole lot going on here. Are rain is gone after last weeks 3 days of It, I was ready for more and the other night we got some but that was it. Why does it always seem to rain at night when you cant even enjoy it? I did get some nice shots or Rhyolite in the snow, I wondered out there and never got out of the van so I would not slip, the roads were even still slick so snap I did and off I went! Its been kind of a lazy week, for some reason I have been real sleepy during the day? My son is sick and I am trying my hardest to stay away from him, I feel so bad when the kids get ill... I have had this running nose thing since Oct, I think its allergies.. Well today I got out there and clipped down the mums and rose bushes to my surprise to see some of my bulbs popping up through Mother Earth! Trying to get rid of the mint, the cat was rolling around on the ones I did not get picked up for the trash can, I still can not get rid of that stuff! I hate it, Even in freezing temps, it wont die! Any ideas or help? well thats about it from here. I have started to get my Valentines Cards and mine all left my house. Good thing come in small packages... Spring Cleaning?

I don't think so I just call it getting stuff done or it wont happen! I hear alot of people say "Sprain Cleaning" but if I say that then Spring will come and go. Since I am home hoping and praying that my job may come back or something will come up because I am getting desperate! I am trying to get stuff done. Today I started ripping out the shelf liner in the kitchen and replacing it with new. Contact paper is my friend, what handy stuff that is, my Mom uses to use it on everything so I had some laying around I figured I better use it. After 23 years the old stuff held up very well but was time to change. I finished the spare room (thank goodness) so here is what it looks like. I did not take before pictures because it was really bad and you could not even see the floor, so as of today I am hoping it will stay this way here is what it looks like.

I finished all my Valentines cards, now I have to address them and buy stamps and get them off. I was worried I would not get them finished so I started early, good thing. Since Hubby has PT 3 times a week in Pahrump I am not home alot.

Hope your Thursday is as great as mine, its raining out side and I am really enjoying it. So far my knee is holding out with all this dampness, that's a good thing. Enjoy!

You tell me, which one looks better, me at 16 (of course) or me now (yuck) It how we think and fell about ourselves is what makes a difference. Somedays with the acks and pains we have we don't always feel up to par but we have to make the most out of what God has given to us. Like Sues post on Facebook its something like this, if you love life, life will love you and so true that is, we only get better the older we get.

Its been raining here yesterday and what a sight to see. I was so happy yesterday I think it gave me energy to do things more them other days. I got my spare room all cleaned out and it looks OK. I now can see the floor again! Yes! I labeled all the plastic boxes so I know whats in them, I guess you could say Spring Cleaning, but if I go and get a job I wont have to time to do it and my knee is feeling so much better, I can step up on a stool and move around. Its such a great feeling to be able to move around again. Well just wanted to pop in and say HI. Kyle and I are play Wii Bowling and I am kicking his butt. 173 for me 165 for him. Enjoy your day!

Welcome and Sorry I have been away from my blog! My week has been filled with 600 miles of traveling to and from Pahrump and Las Vegas, oh what fun.. You see we live in a small town of less then 1,000 and there is nothing here. well not really nothing but if you need to go to the doctor you have to go to Pahrump or Las Vegas and since I am driving hubby around that's where I have been off to these days. I will be glad when my life gets back to normal, soon I hope. I just need to keep hubby off of all ladders! He is getting batter and I am grateful for that. Well for those of you who have Face Book accounts its Retro week, if your one of my friends go and copy and paste the posting along with one of your younger pictures of yourself and lets see how we all look. This picture is of me when I was 16. Those were some good years but I don't think I would want to go back. They say we only get better as we get older, and I think its true. Tonight was our 1st night of the start to Women's Bible Study, just a small group of 8. We talked about trying to tell others about GOD and his word. How do you reach out to others who don't want to hear it? Its sad for me to think that some people shut the door to God and we cant stop it from slamming. How do we help these people? Are they willing to accept the help that others are giving? So many questions goes through my mind that get left unanswered. I think this study is a great way to start the new year off right. If you have the opportunity to attend Bible Study take advantage of it. It takes a special person to provide the gift from GOD.

The count down at my house has started so we can end this year as fast as we can. Now most people will say "Whats wrong with this year" well for my family its been one of the worst we have seen since my Mom died in 2006. On top of all we have gone through Sue and I lost our one and only Aunt this November. I am so looking forward to the new year coming in because I know that its got to be better then this one. I look at others and think I dont have it as bad as some and I am very thankful to GOD for that. My best friend that I went to school with, she found out this year that her hubby has cancer and its not treatable, hes had surgery and kimo but its in a spot that they cant get. Bev is younger then me, I can not imagine whats shes going through. She dont go to church and dont believe GOD is with her. I wish I could do more, but she knows that I am here for her. So as we look back at this year I am thankful for all I have and who I am. SO CHEERS TO YOU AND THE NEW YEAR!

Wow Christmas has come and gone and we are all still sane, I hope. Why is Christmas so stressful. It wears you out like your have done a 5 mile walk or something. Then you worry if everyone liked what you gave them. Only to turn around and do it all again next year. We are strong people. Brave to wait in lines to check out. Weak to give into the kids when they whine. Happy to see there faces as they open there gifts or having supper with family! What more can a person ask for.

Good Morning to all.

As we start this day I was reading on facebook a friend on mine loss his Mom early this morning. Its so sad anytime something like that happens but with Christmas just around the corner makes things even worse. I know that this year has not been good for my family and I am truly thankful for all I have, others out there are worse off then me and that's so sad. I know what its like loosing my Mom so we kind of know how others feel. Its just a sad time and I pray that next year will be better.

Today is my Hubby birthday, he is slowly recovering from his rotator cuff surgery. Poor guy this makes his 3rd surgery since his fall in April. A word to all women out there, dont let anyone go up on the roof using a ladder with out someone holding it... Thanks to all of you who take time out of your day to read my blogg. I know I am not to exciting, but things happen and so I post away. I do enjoy reading others and making new friends. Hope your Holidays are blessed with joy, love and happiness. Another Winter Day in the Desert. I really enjoyed the little rain we got before it turned into snow, I don't do snow and ice to well. Since my knee surgery where and how I step is by how careful I do it. My biggest fear right now is falling down. So as I sit back in the chair and look out the window I can see that its snowing up in the mountains but no rain down here. Rain, Rain, come again is my motto.

Its hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner, WOW this year has just flown by. I hope it warms up some for Santa to be out all night. I am getting alittle excited. The weather man is telling me that we have 40% chance of rain and possibly snow! WOW rain in the desert. We have not even had 1/2 of an inch since forever. I love the rain, it smells good. gives the little critters a drink, makes the wild flowers in Spring pop open, So I am sitting here just awaiting for it to start. Gees, I am an easy pleaser. Ok what more can I say is that I need some cheering up? I have the blues bad and I dont know why? Maybe cause I dont have a job, maybe cause the medical bills are really big, maybe cause Hubby is down, Maybe, Maybe I just dont know. I have been filling in at the high school for Mark while hes home recooping from surgery and its really hard for me to be there. I sit in the library where I once used to work and I walk the halls I once cleaned, its a sad place for me. I was going to put i n a transfer to another school but then I was told I cant do that unless it gets put into the newspaper then I can apply for it. Always something getting kicked back at me. Christmas is just around the corner and this year we are not having it. I give up some days. Is it next year yet?? It cant come fast enough. Well sorry to lay this on you all.

All is Good and All is Well, well maybe somewhere else besides here. I have this stubborn cold that just wont go away, I take meds and it just hangs on. Today I have to get this house clean for Thursday but I just can't seem to get up and move around. I tossed and turned most of the night after getting home late from Vegas. Any home remedies you'll may have please pass them this way, HELP, I need something. Take Care of yourself, and stay well. I had my flu shot and H1N1 shot so I am ok there, thanks goodness. So its about to be another weekend to start. It hard to believe that Thanksgiving will be next week. Not alot planned for turkey day, just a quite day at home and Marks aunt will be having supper with us, that will be a treat, she moved here in March and it will be her 1st Thanksgiving here with us. Family is something I do not have much of, My one and only aunt passed away acouple of Weeks ago and that ended it for my family now only a brother and sisters left with all there kids and grand kids. Sadly to say we are not that close so we don't see many of them. Sue is posting on facebook "What your Thankful for" and my response is GOD! he does so much and asks for little with out him in our lives nothing would be possible. You could say Family, Health, Roof over your heads, but GOD comes 1st in my book. Well I hope you all have a great weekend.

Welcome Back! My last post with the pictures of the big horn sheep just amazed me so much that I want to go back up there but I know with hunting season here it would not be nice to the hunters to go up there and disturb them. I have seen Deer, Chucker and Quail there also but its been awhile since we were geocaching up there. Yes someone put one out in the middle of nowhere. My needs to get out and geocache is growing. Everyday I think soon I will be back doing those again and sure enough I get an email saying some one found one of mine. I started taking little walks around the block to help build up my legs some. Here's more of my Fall colors, my mums are growing out of control, and the stray cat we now have just loves rubbing up against them, he likes the smell of them I think. November has come and almost gone on me, with not working I don't remember what day it is, and Thanksgiving is just next week. Well I am off for now, Hope you all are having a great week. OK, After not being able to get into the drivers side of the jeep to drive I asked hubby if he would take me up to the spring to see if any big horn sheep were up there, with hunting in progress, I did not think we would see anything. We passed a few cars full of hunters in them, that made me sad knowing they are up there shooting something that breaths, eats. After passing them we came around a corner and sure enough here were 5 Big Horn Sheep standing in the road. Hubby stopped for me to get all the pictures my heart desired. They impress me seeing them just grazing the hill side and not really caring whats happening around them. So after a truck came at us we continued on toward the spring following them as they walked. As we got ahead of them we came up to the spring and sure enough there were 3 more getting there drink and off they went. We stopped and waited for the other 5 to come down from the ridge and sure enough they did. Hubby got about 50 feet from they as they were at the spring getting there drinks. This animal is s strong, rugged and beautiful animal. With little water around, they seem to survive the harsh desert life. Hats off to them and they made my Veterans day GREAT! We saw a total of 15 ! WOW

I am having withdraws from being able to get into the jeep and going out in the desert. I love just driving on the back roads and watching for with little wild life there is in the desert. The other day after I took Kyle to school I took the van out looking for some Fall colors in the desert. Beatty has the Amargosa River running through it, now when you think of a river you think wide and water running with rapids in it, not here. We just have a small stream that stops and goes. The Amargosa River is more under the earth then above ground. Its very long. So if you google it you will see what I am saying. I did find some Fall colors so I will share with you. My progress is going ok. After my weekend and all the walking I did, I have been pretty sore, which I exspected that, so I have been taking this week one day at a time. I am glad that I ditched the cane. Enjoy your week.

What a very busy weekend we had here in the desert, while the weather was just perfect it was good to be out and in the fresh air. I did my share of walking around the last couple of days and with out the cane too. Boy I sure can feel it with stiffness in the knee and my back flaring up because I am not walking correctly. All in all it was a nice weekend. I saw people I went to school with who I have not seen in years, I saw alot of vendors with some neat stuff. The longest parade I have seen in Beatty the whole 28 years I have been here. Ate some food that I really should of said no thanks to. Bands with music filled the air in different direction and even on Halloween the bars had bands. We had 70 kids come to the door for trick or treat. Its been a busy weekend and one my son will not forget. His favorite thing of all time are trains and every year the Las Vegas Garden Railroad puts up there display and run there trains all weekend long, so for 3 days hes been up there walking around watching and this year they let him run his train on the tracks, he has been in heaven all weekend. Just watching him makes my weekend. Well I hope that your weekend was as grand as mine. It feels so good to be out and about again. Enjoy your week and it NOVEMBER already????

WOW can you believe that Halloween is upon us all? Where has this horrible year gone but thankful that we are close to a new year coming up. My year in review is not a pretty one and I hope to put this one behind me. I do want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! And in Nevada we are celebrating Nevada Day. Our weekend has started off to be a busy one with Beatty day which years ago Beatty was world known for the Burro races they held which now with the animal laws they are not allowed to do that. Its a good time to hang out at the park and see people you have not seen in years or so. Enjoy your little ticks or treats and I will be back!

What really is a redneck? Now I know we all have an idea what it is or who it is. I was reading my facebook this morning and I see a post from Melissa, Sues daugther in law saying something about redneck and duct taping the ironing board cover on. Is that what a redneck really does or is it just a quick fix until you can go out and get another one. I dont know if thats the case but what ever works will do for me. I think we all have some of that Redneck in us, we might not always show it all the time but if you look deep enough you too will find it. All is going better over here. I am walking around the house with out the cane now, kind of scared to go out with out it, that too will take some time. I look at it as everyday is a new day. I have been busy canning alittle bit for something to do. I may not be back to normal but I am alive and well. I do ride the exercises bike for 10 minutes and go over 2 miles, not to bad. Trying to get back to normal around here, well me anyways. I went to the doctor on Friday and he was pleased with the progress I have been making with the bending on my knee. He asked me about Physical Therapy and I told him I was going 2x aweek and it was 75 miles away. He said I was doing good and did not need it anymore that I can do my exercises at home. I was very happy. I can not get to stay home and not travel much anymore. Since April with all that's happen in this household we have put over 17,000 miles on the van and that was only driving to Pahrump and Vegas. That's bad but that's the price you pay for when you live so far away to any good size towns. Today I have been up cleaning the house, doing laundry, and now my back hurts. Par of the course I guess since I still don't walk normal that my back will be taking alot of the strain. Chiropractor here I come but that means going to Vegas and I hate going there. Yesterday Vegas had almost a record temp of 93, it was warm here to and I will be glad when we get cooler weather again. Everyone getting sick well I wonder why with this weather. Here's My Sign for Tuesday!

A day late on my sign day, sorry. On Sunday I had to get out of this house and go see some Fall colors, now I know what your thinking, where in Nevada that is nothing but desert you go and see Fall colors at? Just outside of Las Vegas are mountains that is over 8,000 feet high and in the canyons hold some pretty lodge pole pines, pinion pine, cedar trees, Aspen quakies. It was so pretty up there it makes you think that your not in Nevada anymore. WE took the family and Danielle my youngest did not believe her eyes on how pretty it was up there. She was little the last time we were up there so it was a treat for all of us. I did get some nice shots. It turned out to be a nice day, once we left the mountain we went into Las Vegas for some Supper. Please if any of you out there have some great Fall shots, please post then so I can see something other then desert brush. Enjoy your Fall as I am. Well Good Morning out there in Blog land and another fine day it is. The temps are getting chilly and the leaves are all falling, tis the season to start your baking and canning. After a day in Pahrump I am home today to rest up some before taking hubby to Vegas tomorrow to the doctor and have a nice supper some where. As I was checking out Sues Blog she posted about Mini pies in a canning jar. I saw that and thought that was the cutes thing around. I have tons of them kind of jars I got at a thrift store awhile back. So I am going to try to make these cute jar pies, I was never any good about making a good pie crust, so if anyone out there has any tips on making a good one, please pass them to me. There muct be a trick I am missing. I hope your enjoying the Fall season as much as I am. I can tell the weather is cooling down because boy the roadrunners are sure out and about, I saw 2 coming home yesterday from Pahrump. They are such a pretty bird. Enjoy your day.

Mondays Heres Your Sign day is here and I feel like I am as slow as this turtle most days. I am off to PT today so I wanted to get this posted before I left. Our weather here has cooled off nicely, its even kind of chilly in the house. It will be nice when its cooler and lighting up the pellet stove, having a fire always warms up things. Not alot happening here. I am down to 2xs a week now for PT. Its nice not having to go to Pahrump all the time. Today I will be having lunch with my oldest before PT, just her and I. I get to drive in all by myself. I have been up moving around more, I even got the shampooer out and did the kicthen carpet, it feels good when something gets clean. October is the month the Pomegranates are ripe, every year I get a ton to peel and prepare for making jelly's and syrups. I hope I can get them done this year. They take alot of work but they are so good for you. Well I just wanted to check in. Hope your October has started out to be great. For those of you on Facebook...... See you there!

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, I figures I would through them all in since I am behind postings. With recovering, PT 3xs a week it takes alot out of a person. I have been up trying to clean up this thing we call a house, by the end of the day I am tired from being on my feet alot. Not alot going on here, Hubby had surgery last Thursday and hes recovering nice. I sure hope that next year turns out alot better then this one. Hubby still needs shoulder surgery not sure when that will happen. We are on our last day of having high temps here in the desert, its around 100 today but tomorrow its suppost to drop 25 degrees, wow we wont know what to do with such nice weather. I love the Fall but here in the desert the weather is either HOT or COLD no in between sad to say. well heres my sign for this week given to me from a dear friend we all know Mary Beth from Day4plus this sign fits us well. OK its not the greatest sign I have had but its one we drive by when we go to California to see my brother who lives in Southern California down by LA. I took this picture the last time I was down there acouple of years ago. This is the same place they have Michael Jackson at (I Think) They play music to the dead, creepy I think and AC in the tombs. My day late on "Here's You Sign"

So I am a couple of days late and a dollar short on most things going on here, but I am still alive and well as can be. Monday was my oldest girls birthday, she turned 27 and boy I am feeling old already. When she hits 30 I will be close to 50. Well its only numbers and if you dwell on it you will feel older so I try and not to. Its starting to cool down here and Fall weather is in the air, Its cool in the morning and nice during the day and at supper time you can enjoy your meal outside on the porch. Its a great time of the year.

My sign is a licence plate I saw on a car awhile back and I thought I would share it with you all, It fit the car it was on. We have a highway that goes through town with alot of traffic on it, its the main road from Vegas to Reno. It takes only 50 minutes to fly it but if you drive it from Vegas to Reno it will take you almost 8 hours depending on how fast you drive with little towns in between.

Happy Day late Labor Day to all of you. Not to much happening here over the weekend. We basically stayed home and rested up since we are on the road alot. The weather has started to cool down in the desert, I woke up this morning and it was chilly around 60, it felt to good. I need to know if anyone know what plant this is. I was wondering around the yard yesterday and here it was just sitting there. I think its a morning glory but I have not planted any in years so I am guessing that a bird flew over and dropped the seed down in his dropping? I also had 2 other plants next to it, but the leaves on it looked more like a grape plant and I dont know how that would even be there. My little plant has more flowers on it today then yesterday when I took the picture. When I feel better I will have to dig it up and move it somewhere else. so if you know what this plant is just comment on it so I know how to take care of it.

I am off to day for more therapy. I now no longer need the walker I graduated up to a cane. Its not a fun process in recovering. Take care and enjoy your week. Sorry for having 2 pictures the same.

I just love these little guys, we don't have them here where I live so when I was in Wyoming last year I make my hubby drive by and see them, I think they are just the cutest things that GOD has created, I know I am not a farmer and realize that kind of damage they can do for livestock and fields but there sweet.

I am slowly getting better, I now can bend my knee alot better then before which is a good thing, it still hurts and the swelling is taking it time going away. Some days at Physical Therapy I feel like a pretzel by the way they bend me and move me. I will be glad when its all done and I can get back to normal again. I am still using the walker and soon hope to dump that out the door.

Well just wanted to pop in and say hi to all my blog friends, sorry I don't post more often but we are on the road at least 4 days of the week for therapy or doctors.

My heart and prayers goes out to the California Wild Fire Victims in loosing there homes. The smoke is so bad we get it here and the ash is all over everything. I was in Pahrump yesterday and the sun was just orange from the smoke.

My post tonight goes out to my 2 girls. When I was young I was surrounded by my 2 sisters. Not always getting along all the time and screaming to Mom that they were after me since I was the baby in the family, I feel for my 2 girls. Now not saying that there is something wrong with them, or saying they fight all the time which is so untrue. I just want then to know that no matter whats happening in there lifes, weather its good or bad that I there Mom will be here for them. I have 3 kids and all are about 5 years apart which I love because I can enjoy each one at a different time in there life. My son is the middle child. He was not the normal little boy everyone has and loves, hes Mild Retarded so hes been a handful when he was young. My 2 girls have grown into very sweet young ladies with my youngest turning 17 in November. It scares me to think what there future will be but I know that GOD works in ways we can not and all will be great. So tonight's post goes out to Danielle my youngest and Shila my oldest. I love you both.

Thanks to a sweet lady who emails me some awesome sign she finds along the ways to her travels, she sent me this sign to use on my "Heres your sign" post. I stopped calling it Mondays Heres Your Sign because I cant seem to be posting alot lately. Since my surgery 6 weeks ago, I find that I can not sit in one spot for very long, that I am getting up and moving around or laying down on the bed. I start to hurt so I have to move. When I sit at the computer it seems to hurt alot I think its from the way I have to keep my leg out. Well, Marybeth sent this to me acouple of days ago and I have been wanting to post it but I have not been home much due to Physical Therapy and seeing the doctor. I am slowly healing with a set back of me knee not wanting to bend. Tuesday I will be going back to the hospital so they can put me under and they are going to bend the knee and break up all the scar tissue thats built up so fast. Yes scary to think what they are going to do, but one good thing is that I do not have to stay there, its out patient. I will have to have Physical Therapy everyday after that for a week or so. I will be traveling alot. So to try to catch up on all your blogs and mine I am enjoying my weekend off. School starts Monday and the kids are both looking forward to going back. I will be nice to have the house to myself for a change but sad and depressing knowing after 11 years I wont be returning since they laid me off. Hope that your all enjoying your weekend, Its been hot here but today its cooled down and we are hoping for some rain. Enjoy and Take care until my next post.

Happy Wednesday to you all. Mine has started off so far ok. Another day of recovery. Not alot happening over in this part of the country. Hot, Hot, Hot its been up there in the temps. We are averaging around 100. I saw that Marybeth got rain, Sue has rain, wheres my rain?

Monday I go to see the doctor in Vegas to see how well I am doing, good or bad. I really like my doctor and everyone I have talked to said I had the best surgeon, I am very lucky to have him, but he left his practice to go work for the veterans which is great for them but sad for me, I will be seeing him Monday because he is coming in to see a handful of his patients to see how they are doing and I am one of them. Its hard to find a good doctor these days and not some quack.

I got a little something special in the mail from my sister Sue yesterday. I was so surprised so I wanted to share it with you all. Shes going to be selling them on her Esty Shop so go on over there soon and check out these little cuties. She knows I like purple. Thanks Sue, your the best Sis.

Ok I know I am a few days off for my Here's your sign day but I was looking at my pictures on my laptop and found this one to show off, since I have cats and no dogs I like having signs around to show them off.

Its been 4 weeks now since my surgery and I can coming right along some days are better then others and going in and out side is a challenge due to the steps going in the my mobile home. I still can not bend the leg, some say that one day I will be able to bend it out of the blue. I am hoping that day will show up soon. Not alot happening over here since I cant really go out besides going to Physical Therapy 3 times a week to Pahrump. I do get to see my oldest. My granddaughter is in Wyoming with her Daddy and now she wants to stay there, this makes me sad since she has always been with her Mom and we have fought to keep her close by. She is getting older now 9 and I know she needs her Daddy. See what happens I guess. Hope that everyone is doing good and keeping cool from the Summer time temps. We are supposed to have a cool down for 2 day in the low 90's in Vegas so it will be in the 80's here, cant wait. Well I am off to play Bingo tonight at the Senior Center. Wish me luck......

The New Me or Knee?

Ok I am back and ancy to catch up on all I missed. My rehab is going ok. My knee is healing nice. If I can only bend the knee I would be fine, but that takes time as well as recovery. I guess I am pushing things some since its only been 2 weeks since surgery. Here is my xrays pictures I got at my last doctors appointment. I just had to have a picture to show off my new knee. My advice to all who may need this same surgery is dont wait until your so crippled up that you cant move anymore and do it while your young. Its easier on you and your body in recovery. Yes is scary, Yes it hurts, yes its costly, but in the long run it will pay for its self. Everyone I have talked to has told me it was well worth it. As I get better I will update my progress.

Well its me again, finely here and up dating my blog, I bet you cant believe your eyes. Its count down time for me. On Thursday I go to Vegas to have surgery on my knee. What fun I know but if it takes the pain away it will be well worth it. I wont know how long I will be down I do know it will be awhile. I have a lap top so I can check in with everyone and see how things are going. Our 4th of July was really nice. There were games at the park and raffles, Fireworks that were really something to see for a small town. It was hot but nothing we could not handle. It was a good day all around. My last day at work was long and hot. Its been real muggy here with the hope for rain but nothing hits the ground, were being teased I think. I wanted to get this posted because Sue keeps asking about my bathroom. I am 90% done, still needs the trip on the top of the walls and my stuff needs to come back in like pictures and nick knacks. But its usable and just in time for my surgery. I went to Vegas yesterday and pre registered at the hospital. I am kind of scared about having it done but I know I wont be in the pain I live with everyday. I hate to think how much it is if I did not have insurance (Ouch) I am thinking alot. We need a better health care in this country. Well here is my bathroom so I hope that you like what you see.

Welcome to another week, this is my last week to work, kind of sad, kind of looking forward to getting some time off. I am going to have replacement knee surgery on the 9th, so down time it will be. Hello again, its me. I know you cant believe your eyes. Sorry I missed my Mondays here your sign post so I am making it up to you all for today. I am on the count down to how many more days I have left to work which is 4 more days. I am still kind of puzzled on whats going to happen after I don't work anymore, free time? WOW that blows my mind away. On the 9th I go in for surgery on my knee, its something I have been putting off for awhile, but since I wont be working its the perfect time to get it done and out of the way. My other knee will need shots put into it. I have bone spur es and some cysts on it with tears to the ligaments, he said not to have surgery on that. Still finishing up on the bathroom, it should be ready to go when I have surgery. My last 2 weeks have been busy so I need to finish painting it. After about a month of unseasonable temps on the cool side, I do believe that Summer has made its way to the Nevada desert. I have been watching the weather and I feel for all of you back East with the heat wave. Be strong, Stay cool and wait it out. My thoughts and prayers are with you all back there. Well I am cutting this short so I can get to bed since 5a.m comes around fast. Its my Friday tomorrow and another busy weekend. Enjoy.....

Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening, well all is well in the Henderson House. My mission is to think positive! Things keep breaking down around here but I am keeping my head up high and smelling the clean air. Today my hubby was driving to the post office and backed into someone. No scratches on there car, but my bumper look as if he punched it real hard. I don't know where my future is going or what I will be doing for work, but I do know I have a great family and friends to help support me when my head starts to fall. GOD has plans fro me, just have to wait and see what they are. Hope that your all enjoying your almost Summer time? The weather here has been really nice and cool. We went fishing up North and it was cold and rainy, it sure did feel good. Saw some Deer and Antelope, always a pleasant sight to see. A start to a new beginning, well almost. I have started to think that what happens in life has meaning. Some we do not understand why it happens and others we take for granted knowing that someday it will. Yesterday I got my letter from the district office saying I have 30 days left to work and my job will be ended due to budget cuts from the Governor. Now I can go on hating this man for putting our state deeper in trouble for all the lies he gave up when he was running to be elected, but I am going to go on and accept whats happening in my life. Yes my family has been hit hard this year with this and that, but I am a believer that GOD will be by me and support me. I don't know what road GOD has chosen for me to go down, nor do I know how I will feel when I get there, But time will tell, and as long as I have my family, friends and my blog friends, we will stick together and take it one day at a time. Welcome to a new Month of June. With Summer just around the corner and the hot weather, I wanted to take the time to say Thanks for the support from all my blog friends and family. This year for me has started off not so good. In March I had some women problems, April hubby fell from the roof and is still not 100 % back to himself, May I was told that I will be laid off, so now I don't have an income coming in or Insurance and I don't know what i am going to do with my knees getting done. I feel my life to be hopeless, now what? My pastor was preaching about not gloating over your problems. I can not stop crying let alone gloating on what happen. My whole life flushed down the toilet and he says not to gloat over it, yeah right... Well June I am hoping will be better but only time will tell. Nothing planned, no trips, and graduation just days away, I don't have the energy to sit through that and say goodbye to the kids I know so well.

WOW This will be my last paid holiday I will get. Last week was the worst. I was told that I have 30 days left to work and that's it. What goes through a person mind after being told something like that? My thought was "Now What will I do" Beatty does not have alot of jobs in this small town and what there is does not pay. My family has been through so much this year, I can only hope that next year is better. I was going to have knee replacement surgery in July, now I don't know what I will do, it has to be done but loosing insurance makes it worse.

I hope that everyone had a nice Memorial Day, with lots of barbeque's, family and friends, little goecaching ( that's was yesterday) of just kicked back and relaxing. Shila and Kaley surprised me today. :)

My Geocaching adventures for today turned out to be a No Found. I just don't understand it. I walked and walked all over that place and nothing. I did not bring the GPS because its set to a certain formula and I cant find it that way. I did meet some friends while I was out there around 8 lizards crossed my path while out at the Rhyolite Cemetery. Its hard to believe its Wednesday already. I am looking forward to a long 3 day weekend. We are having out Bathroom re-done so when I have surgery this Summer I can get in and out of it. Bye Bye Bath Tub.. No signs for today, sorry. My 2 daughters are feeling the pain of there young friends loos of there Mother this morning. We live in a small town and we all know each other. Around 12:51 a.m. I had the sounds of my pager for the ambulance service awake me up from sleep, saying a 50 year old women unable to breath at 612 W Ribel street. As I was waking up to this the address kept going on in mu mind because about 10 years ago before the water department decided to change all the address in Beatty I used to be 612 and Ribel Street is just one up from me so I was trying to think who that could be? I got up from bed and shut the pager off and went back to sleep wondering who that was until my hubby called me from work telling me the news and that my youngest was in the bathroom crying. My heart just dropped. I felt so bad. I went to school and brought Danielle home for the day, it was not going to do her any good being there, now she off with her Dad to physical therapy. I also had one of her friends here too for awhile. Hubby was going t take her to, but she stayed to go home to be alone since no one is there. I am thankful that I can say I have been home for my kids and not off doing other things. Yes I have to work but if I am gone, hubby is home. So this flower I am posting for for all the young girls who are feeling the pain of loosing someone today!

Another Monday has come around and how fast our weekend goes by. I think if we blinked we would miss the 2 days off that we look forward to so much and poof~~~~ there gone. Well thats my story anyways. I hope that everyone had a nice Mothers Day? We went to Pahrump to have Supper with my oldest. It was a nice visit. Soon our Summer heat will be here. Its already hit about 90 here in Beatty and Friday while watching my kids play baseball and softball in Vegas it was 97 and hot. I had to go and sit in the shade after getting over heated. We never get to see much Spring here, 4 seasons are out we mainly get 2, Winter and Summer. But my flowers are all blooming and baby birds are chirping everywhere.and I know that GOD is great in all the things he does.

Well almost Friday. Its my Friday for me due to Baseball and softball games in Vegas tomorrow. So were off to the big town tomorrow. Its been really warm here and it will be hot in Vegas tomorrow. Time heals all wounds and its taking it time with him. He had a pretty bad break to the wrist and they put a metal plate to keep the bones in place. Welcome and Good morning. Hope that you all had a great weekend? I am still tending to hubby as he slowly recovers from his fall. He went back to work today but on light duty, so no lifting for him anytime soon. I really feel for people who do not have insurance. I was in that boat alittle over 2 years ago and seeing the bills coming in from hubby accident, if I did not have insurance I would not be able to pay it off in my life time. Why do hospitals charge so much and then they say there broke? I jaw dropped when I saw the bill and that did not include the doctor, ambulance, helicopter. And the service he got while in the hospital was bad. 3 days and no sponge bath. poor guy smelt bad after we got him home. Enough on that subject. My sign for today is something I saw on a coffee cup in a fabric store in Vegas. The saying was so cute and today it fits for all the venting I am doing. My trip in Missouri was a good one besides I got sick while I was there, we still all had a nice time and did some geocaching here and there. I made one up for Sue to hide where she liked. She now had the bug of hunting to. If you have not done it, try it and see. My hunting days this year are limited since hubby is down. I hope you have a wonderful week. Hello to all of you out there in the world wide web. I am posting my sign for today since yesterday I was just to busy with hubby and all. I am getting ready to leave for Vegas soon so I wanted to post this before I left. Hubby is doing alittle bit better, he goes to the surgeon today and hopefully he can go back to work soon? Sorry I never got to post anything from my trip from Sues house. I did catch some type of bug and felt pretty crummy for most of the time while I was there, I don't think its the swine flu which is a good thing. Hello to all my great blog friends in blog land. This is just to let you know that I will be gone for a week. I am flying away to Missouri to visit Sue and her family. This will be the 1st Easter we will be together since she moved back East. I am preparing myself for the flight to come, see I have never flown that far before and not by myself, so I am alittle spooked. As you can see from the pictures above I wont be flying in them type of planes, but the Stealth would be neat to be in. I have seen it up close before and I have seen it fly over Beatty. Good Morning to you all. Hope that your weekend was a nice one? Things here have calm down alot. The wind is gone for today, which is good, we have another cold front coming through this week and I think we are getting some more wind. It has been a windy Spring, that's for sure. Not to much happening around here. I am flying away Friday and I will be gone a week, so I wont be posting, I am hoping to have some nice pictures and I will share when I get home. I got my results back from my MRI on my good knee and it don't sound to good. I have to go see the doctor after I get back from my trip. Its a bummer getting old. What ever he will tell me, it will have to wait until this Summer when I plan to have the replacement done on the bad knee. I am hoping it will heal some, it feels better. Well here is my sign I found on the Internet awhile back. This sign kind of relates home, 2 weeks ago a high school student hit 2 burros on the highway. They did massive damage to his truck. Finely Friday! I cant say it was long or short week, it was just one of those weeks. Started off Monday I went to Vegas for an MRI and have a nice lunch with my very best friend. Wednesday came around and I felt like my head was going to blow up, either allergies or a Spring cold? Still feel bad but slowly getting better. My son has it really bad, poor kid. I am hoping Saturday to go to Pahrump to buy some food for this house. I am getting ready for my trip to Sues. I leave next Friday for a whole week, just Sue and me, the family is staying home. I am getting excited about going. I have a nonstop flight so I can kick back and enjoy every minute. My Summer plans don't look as good so I am taking a trip now. My son entered a different photo contest as well as I did and not winning which is ok. Kyle did better then me. I summited a picture that he took while we were in Ely last Summer, he did not win any place (1st,2nd, 3rd) but he did get Honorable Mentioned for his picture. This was put on by Scenic Nevada, they are out of Reno. They had over 1,000 people enter this year and I was a proud momma that they picked Kyle. The school is waiting for the certificate to the student council can present it to him. Way to go Kyle, Mom is very proud of you. Here is his picture. I guess I better get some tips for taking pictures from my son.

Good Wednesday to you all. Hope that everyone is doing well? Its slowly starting to warm back up here in the desert. I have had some strange visitors in the lot next door. Every Spring and Fall I usually see a Robin and some Wood Peckers, they come down from the mountains to feed and go back up, well the other day I saw some birds in that yard and they were not the normal birds I see. I was watching them for awhile, but I could not get a really good picture. My friend was down visiting her Mom and she lives in Reno. She told me they were Scrub Jays. What a pretty bird. The are blue, gray and brown. I have never seen them in Beatty, we are just to far South for them, maybe they were lost? hungry I know because I through some bread over there the day before. There was 4 of them and they made my day. So if you know these birds, please comment and tell me about them. They were a sight to see. My prayers goes out to Bonnie over at Beesmoose, Her Dad passed away. Were thinking about you girl.

Hello and how are you all on this new week? Not alot going on here but the weather, yesterday we had a sand storm and a bad one it was. You could not see where you were driving at all. The mountains were gone too. And its cold today after last week of being in the 70's were back to Winter. What is Mother Nature up to these days? Its always something. Well I am about all out of signs but since its softball season for my daughter and I was looking for stuff to post at school for there bulletin board here is a cute one, and since she has a game today which I cant go to because I have to work, this sign is for her. Mad and upset with myself is how I feel today. I went to the local museum to pick up my picture I entered in an photo contest, with hopes it might of done something, I was wrong. You see when you live in a small town and everyone know you its hard to do anything. I looked to see who all won and there was no one from Beatty even won. I thought that was kind of sad not seeing anyone from Beatty winning anything all people who dont even live here. I guess I learned my lesson when trying to do something nice for the town and the people who run it are always fighting against you. I should I know better, well here is the picture I entered. I brighten it up some and gave it more color on the one I entered. How do you think I did?

Good Morning and Welcome to a new week. I hope all is well out there in Blog Land? The weather here is just beautiful, its supposed to get into the 80's in Vegas, thank goodness I am 120 mile away from there so we stay alittle bit cooler, so we will be in the 70's. Not alot going on over here in my neck of the neighborhood. I will be gone Thursday and Friday to Las Vegas for doctors appointments so I wont be around. Here is my sign for today. Its Monday Again and off to a new start of a new week. Today I am posting a sign I see along the road on the way up to Elko. I do like Nevada history so this sign is a big part of history. It amazes me how someone could ride all that way just to deliver the mail. In the heart of Winter and the heat of Summer, some true dedicated people. Hope you like this one as well as I do. And yes its good to be home again after a long ride home in most of it in flying snow. I was so tired when I got home. We did have a good time in Elko. Its always nice to get away but better to be home and in your own bed again. 13 kids got metals and made it to Nationals this July and it will be in Nashville. I hope they get to go but money it tight so they will try to fundraiser to get some to go. I have never seen Nashville and that was on my list of places to see. Danielle got a Silver in the parliamentary and procedure category, she too is excited about going. Alot of work ahead of her to get prepared for this trip. She should do well. So some of you out there does not know what FCCLA stands for. Here it is Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. I did not get alot of pictures while I was there, but I was lucky enough to find (1) geocache while I was there. My hubby and I went to the museum while I was there and I knew that one was placedthere so I kind of knew where about it was and sure enough it was there. The light of my day. Welcome and here is you sign for Monday. I am posting early because I am going out of town on Tuesday and will be home Friday sometime. My daughter is in FCCLA and this year the competitions are in Elko which is about 350+ miles North East from here. So I am leaving Tuesday morning and I am driving myself up while the others are riding the bus. I am happy to say I get to judge 2 of the events, but not the ones Danielle is on. If you remember I went to Reno last year with them. Every year is in a different spot. Maybe next year it will be closer to home. I am alittle spooked because it supposed to snow while I am there, and I don't do alot of that so it might be a long drive home.

I am posting this sign because about a week or so Marybeth posted one of a business gone out of business, which is so sad and yes you will see alot more of that happening, but the man who about owns this town after buying up almost all the business is building a new Casino and resort. The name is in Spanish so if you dont know what it says I will tell you "A Dream" He has not started building it yet just working on flatting the land out, so when you think its all down and out there are hopes. Good Morning! And what a pretty day it is for all of us who live in the desert. Its sunny, birds are chirping, my plants are all growing, you could not ask for a better day. GOD does provide. Hope that your weekend was good. My thoughts and prayers goes to Sues family who lost a loved one. Its so hard but I think we get stronger. Not alot happening here, back to work I only had Sunday off since Saturday there was a Basketball Tournament and they needed me there, that was ok since I get comp time I will not need to take personal time to fly to see Sue in April.

Welcome Back! Hope that your had a great weekend and Presidents day. My trip to Vegas was a wet one and cold. Did not see alot of picture taking opertunity but we did eat lunch at an restaurant that Sue and I were at when we were young with our parents. This place holds some fond memories to me. Sometimes you just need that "take me back in time thing" and this was it for me. After our dinner we always got a scoop of shurbert. So if you have a chance to go back in time just for a short time, do it because memories is all we have left. Welcome to my Friday! Yes the weekend is upon us and a holiday one at that. Valentines day is tomorrow. I hope that everyone who did the card swap all got my Valentines cards ok. I mailed them out on the 1st so you should have them. Its been fun making them and thinking of diffrent things to put on them. My weekend will be staying home and working on my quilting I have started. Got some ideas on what to do with it from some good blogger buddies. Monday I am off to the big city of Las Vegas. Danielle has to go to the orthodontist so that is a good day to go and not have to miss any work. My thoughts and prayers goes out to all the people in Lone Grove Oklahoma who lost there homes and business from a twister. We have family there and still don't know if they are ok or not. I am glad to live out West and don't have to worry about things like that. Earthquakes I can handle. I think that GOD is very angry with the ways of the world. If I were him, I would be.

Welcome to a new week filled with love and happiness....... well I hope so anyways since its Valentines week. My Valentines cards are coming in and what a fun thing to do and share with others, I will post as I get them all in. My birthday yesterday was a nice one. The family and I all went to Las Vegas for the day for shopping and lunch. It was nice to have them all with me for my birthday. Yes another year older, not to sure about the wiser part but I am here and alive and enjoying every moment of it. In April I am flying away to see Sue in Missouri and cant wait for that day to come. I don't really care about flying all by myself, but I am a big girl now and hope to handle it ok. It will be nice to be with Sue and do some sister things together with out the hubby around. Since my kids are all most all grown, they don't want to hang with Mom much anymore, so this will be a nice brake away. Good Morning to you all. Yesterday was my Mom's Birthday and if she was alive she would of been 86, so I was alittle blue yesterday remembering my Mom. I know Sue felt it to. But as for today I am feeling better and looking forward to the weekend, yes more games on Saturday (thanks goodness the season is almost over) and Sunday is my birthday and I think if Mark is feeling better which he is not we may go to Vegas and have a nice supper somewhere? I can not complain about our weather over here it was 70 in Vegas yesterday but we do have a storm coming which might if we are lucky bring some rain to the desert. I hope so. we don't see much and we tend to forget what rain is like. I know that Spring is soon to come, my mums thinks it is fall and they started blooming again? silly things. Well Rosemary asked me to post my quilt thing I am making, my only thing is I really don't know if I am making a blanket or pillow or what? I am not a pro at it, still a beginner so squares are all I know and I love purple and found this purple fabric at Walmart. So if you can give me some ideas on what to make I would love to know before I keep adding squares to it and the shape would be to odd to do anything with.
