What does it take to be a great friend?

Well to me just being there when I need someone to chat with but not boar them either. My best friend lives in Reno, Nevada who I went and saw over Spring Break. We have been friends since I have lived in Beatty, the whole 27 years and counting. We both went to school together and the 1st time we meet, she wanted to rip my eyes out. My other best friend is a guy I used to date 22 years ago. He leaves comments on here now and than, but he is there for me if I ever need him. I told him the other day that we chat like we are brother and sister. I enjoy all my friends and my new ones I have made here in blog land.

SO if you have not chatted with your best friend in awhile, take this time to call, email, write and let them know how much you care, in the long run it will pay off!

Have a great Wednesday........

I got to spend last night with one of my best friends. Her husband and Rob have soooo much in common-they hit it off really well. Our daughters are just 2 months apart. She is 12 years older than me but age doesn't matter. She is a great friend-one that I can always depend on. I have a couple of other good close friends and the best part about each of them is they are all good Christian women (we all go to different churches but that doesnt matter). It's great that I have good Christian women who are Godly wifes, mothers and friends b/c when I need someone to talk to they will help me find my answers by praying for or with me and giving me advice from the God's word-the Bible-which is where we should look for all our answers and needs. To God and Him only. He will supply our every need. Some ppl say that friends are the sisters God forgot to give you. I dont like that saying b/c God doesnt forget anything. Not all of us are meant to have siblings-I dont and my daughter doesnt- but I have great friends. Besides my hubby, my #1 best friend in the entire world who is my backbone-she is a big part of me-I am who I am b/c of her and I go to her for everything and we have a deep relationship and that is my mom. I'm really close to my Grammy too but my mom is first. (Well-it's God, Hubby, Daughter, then my parents and grandparents, church, rest of mine and his family, friends and so on). My mom is the best mom and my best friend and always will be.

Well said both Alison and Melissa. I had a best friend, knew her since 6th grade and we laughed and giggled and just could be so silly. She and her husband ran cows east of here and we both liked and still like riding horses.
Well I should quit here.........That old nasty big c took her 2 christmas's ago. But I know she is in a GREAT place and she sends me little giggles once in awhile and I have to laugh out loud and I like that. MB

My Best Friend Pattie and I have been inseperable for about 22 years now. Since I moved here to Utah we usually only see each other for a week once a year...we stay with her family when we go out there on vacation..closer than family they are!! I feel so blessed with lots of friends, but love that I have Pattie to be my oldest dearest bestest friend. I plan to call her in the morning. Thanks for the little reminder. I am glad you got to visit your friend too!!

Like MB, I lost my best friend almost 5 years ago, it just hasn't been the same since, but now I have girls and a sister who fill in just fine. Hugs to all!

Hi Allison! Great post! My very best friend on this earth is my husband, then my daughters. The Lord has also given me a wonderful and dear friend from my church. We share a love for the Lord and have many other things in common. Yes friends are a very special and precious gift from our good God!

Allison, great topic! I'd have to say my best friend is Sissy, my rat terrier. She listens, we're together always, and she knows when I just need a hug. LOL! Honestly, I don't have a best friend. Guess I just don't have time.
